Sierra Nevada High Country
Over three decades I have hiked in excess of 1000 miles of the trails in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The parks are so so vast, though, that I will never visit all the trails in my lifetime. The images in this gallery show just why I keep going back. Click the "Map This" button to see exactly where I was when the picture was taken. Usually, a week or more is required to hike in with the gear, and hike out. I hope you enjoy the pictures, as few people ever get into the remote Sierra Nevada back country.
